Is creativity in marketing essential?
Marketers believe in love at first sight. Consumers are likely to fall for whatever catches their attention first and consequently, give the businesses what they want — sales. In other words, the eyes were always the first to decide. So to answer your question, yes. Creativity in marketing is vital to every business and now with this pandemic, to wellness centers.
Think about this situation. Two wellness centers – WC X and WC Z situated near each other.
WC X has been in the business for 10 years now. They offer services that cater to personal care, functional medicine, fitness, and nutrition. They have always trusted traditional marketing for their business – radio ads, posters, and business advocates as they have established relationships with long-term clients, leaving them with consistent profit.
WC Z came into the picture two years ago and offered the same services as WC X but they were more costly. People started to visit them but it wasn’t doing well at first because customers already trusted the services of WC X. They started marketing their business through social media and later, people started to flock to their center and some of the long-term clients of WC X even started to visit them more often. That’s when they started to earn good profit.
WC X realized that social media was a good and more cost-efficient way to market their business and so they started to create their own page and promoted their products. They started posting photos, videos, and promotions, still they thought — why are we not getting more clients than them?
Usually, we would think that an established brand that offered a proven quality experience is enough to keep the wellness business running. It still is true. But fact check, new consumers are mostly captivated by how you present your brand.
I could be a family friend of a long-term client from WC X. I’ve heard a lot of good things about WC X so I searched for them on social media. I found that there were photos of their clients during the facial session. They had videos of the laser treatment that a client had. They posted a photo of their sauna rooms. And that’s just it. It was good though, I saw what they were trying to tell me.
But I was still curious about what their competitor was doing. So I checked out WC Z’s Instagram page and at the very first glance, I was impressed by the color scheme and the flow of content. There were close up photos of females and their glowing skin, videos of someone getting a good sweat from the sauna experience, there were also recipes that I could save and try for dinner, and though it was not related to the business, there were motivational posts which I really liked and so I shared it to my own page. Simply put, I found what I think I need, and to add, I became more interested in their service.
This is where creativity rings as an essential part of marketing wellness center businesses — consumers need to see the experience in a manner that makes them want to do service.
Why Should Wellness Centers Invest for Creativity in Marketing?
The Global Wellness Market is projected to have a value of more than $1.5 trillion value with a growth of 5-10% annually due to the rising interest and purchase power of consumers. Most of us are really learning to live with this pandemic. Now more than ever, one’s well-being is a top priority. Consumers, and even yourself, are now looking at ways to nurture their lifestyle and achieve their overall wellbeing. In other words, there are greater opportunities for wellness centers to help these consumers and foster their business.
Given the projected numbers above, wellness centers are now left to unlock their brand’s potential and leave their mark. Here are some good reasons to invest in creativity for your business:
- Creativity makes your wellness center unique. Most wellness centers offer similar services and getting creative with your marketing initiatives makes you stand out from your competitors as you give them a memorable first impression. By capturing your audience’s attention first, you are generating curiosity and interest from them.
- Creativity appeals to the mind. When you get creative in marketing your nutrition program, you are most likely to create an impact on how your consumer thinks. For example, not all people love green veggies. But picture this, you work on a green smoothie video and you show them that the green veggies look really fresh. You can even tell your model to taste a leaf and give a good reaction. Then, you ask her to mix them into the blender with all the delicious-looking fruit ingredients. See what I did there? See how I appealed to your mind? Likewise, your audience’s mind could also think that they really have to try it or else.
- Creativity allows you to create with the consumers. On top of everything, your top concern is what your consumers would want to see. Now if you get really creative, you don’t just think the way marketers would do. You think in a way that you want to know what they need exactly. You can even run test trials with your consumers to see how you can share their experiences in the most creative way possible. This generally makes your wellness center more “consumer-centric”.
